Burgers & Fries – recipe
Nothing like some good ol’ burgers with fries. I’d love it even more if I could eat ketchup. Yeah, I know I can make it, but I was just too lazy this time around…
These burgers came out great. I bought some “Mega” American burger buns from a grocery store in town, and sprayed them with olive oil on both sides and toasted them for 1 minute on each side (cut in half). This kept them from crumbling apart like most German “American” burger buns usually do.
It was a lazy day…the fries were store bought…nothing fancy. I just but them on a backing sheet, baked them, them sprinkled some paprika, salt. and parsley over them.
For the burger patties:
Ingredients:
500 grams Ground Beef
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
Directions:
Preheat oven on Broil/Grill or heat up your grill. Don’t ask me how to grill, b/c I don’t know how to (yet).
In a bowl, combine all ingredients together and knead by hand until well combined. Then, form 4 equal sized balls (or 6 for medium burgers or 8 for small burgers). Place them on a plate and flatten them out. Spray with olive oil if desired.
Make sure the rack with drip pan is in the oven while heating up so that the rack is extra hot when you put the patties on. Place the patties on the rack and broil for 6 minutes Then, flip the patties and broil for another 6 minutes on the next side. Remove from rack and serve with buns and toppings of your choosing. I like: mayo & ketchup or mustard & ketchup depending on my mood, as well as lettuce, tomato, and lots of dill pickles.
Serves 4.

That burger looks delicious. Did you deep-fry the fries or cook them in the oven? They look really crispy.
Mmmmmmm. It’s been quite some time since I have had homemade burgers and fries! Maybe as spring and summer approaches I can convince my dad to BBQ some for me…
Now I am wanting burgers for dinner.and fries
I need to fire up the BBQ!!!
Wow, this looks delicious…
