Homemade Frozen Jello Pops – recipe
So, I have had an “exciting” few days. This past weekend I cut my finger while cutting some raw meat. I only ended up needing one stick because the cut was on the top of my finger where it bends.
Luckily, this happened on my left hand because I seem to have cut a nerve…no feeling from the cut up.
Anyways, this has slightly slowed me down in cooking lately and to top it off it has been really really warm. So, my husband had the great idea to make popsicles.
He had gone grocery shopping for me since I couldn’t carry much up stairs, and he ended up coming home with the German version of Jello (Goeter Spiese). Even though he was at the largest grocery store in town, there were only 3 flavors! Three!! Lemon, Waldmeister, and Cherry. Looks like I will have to be doing my own flavor mixing with Flavoraid and Gelatin.
My husband got creative and decided to put the jello in popsicle forms and freeze them.
They were really fun to eat with a sort of jello/slushy consistency.
How can you make these?
1. make jello according to the package directions.
2. pour into popsicle molds & place popsicle sticks on top
3. freeze for about 8-12 hours, or until completely frozen
4. pour some hot water over the frozen molds to help release the popsicles. Remove.
5. enjoy!

I would love one! Even in the middle of winter. LOL
very cool! (pun intended)
thanks for the inspiration. I wonder if an almond gelatin would work just as well…
Awesome! I could so go for one of those.

What a neat idea!
What a great color, this is my kind of recipe…we may have to add some berries too!

Hope ur finger gets better! well, its so late, its probably better now!
Hi Kira,
Please let me know how they turn out! My finger is much better now (it has had almost 3 years to heel since this post was written), but I still have no feeling in it since my son bit it right on the nerve as it was still heeling.
Cheers and thanks for your comment!
