It was so delicious!! The only difference is that I made my chicken in the broiler instead of on the grill.

You can find this delicious recipe here at Dine and Dish.

In the past I have had the pleasure of tasting a green curry for the first time – wow was it spicy!! So, I was a bit worried these burgers would be too spicy for my son to eat…boy was I wrong! He loved them. We liked them too.

I came across the recipe here. However, they have a yogurt-based sauce recipe that we tried and were very disappointed by. I also meant to make the mango chutney that they recommend, but I go so caught-up in getting ready for our trip to the US that the mangoes turned into a delicious sorbet.
I know…this is not exactly a burger on a bun. I ran out of bread and decided to enjoy it over a bed of rice.

So not to throw anything away, I decided to buy some beef and whip out some of my homemade ketchup and make some cheese steak sandwiches.

I doubt these are anything close to the original. In fact, I’ve had cheese steak sandwiches in Philadelphia these were no where close. But, they were good and we did enjoy them.

I followed my own basic recipe (here), but had to use strips of meat instead of thinly sliced meat, American cheese for provologn, and hot dog buns instead of a large baguette cut in half.

So, while I get acquainted with the US Easter Standard Time zone, I will leave you with this yummy recipe for Lemon Pork Chops. Continue Reading »

And, all sorts of colors too: red, yellow, dark orange, light orange…oh and let’s not forget the green tomatillos! I am just in heaven. If I could only have a few things in my garden tomatoes, strawberry, and corn would be the main attraction.
Not only does growing all these fruits/vegetables save me tons of money on my grocery bill, but we never have rotting produce in the refrigerator because we can pick as much as we need when we need it. Oh, and not to mention that freshly-picked produce beats that stuff that sits in refrigerated trucks a million times over!
When I say that these tomatoes are cheep, I really mean it. I grew the plants from seeds – chemical free – and they are watered with water that I get out of the river (by dunking my watering can in the river). However, I must confess that I did spend about €2 of Calcium to feed my tomatoes to keep them from rotting when it rains so much. I think the calcium will take me about 10 years to go through because the tub is just so huge and the plants need so little.
Anyways, getting to the good stuff. Here’s a great summer salad recipe: Continue Reading »
