Turkish Haydari – recipe
The other day I came across this yummy-looking recipe on A Life (Time) of Cooking, so I thought I’d give it a try.
It was fabulous! We all loved it, and my son (who is almost 1.5 years old) was trying to drink it out of the bowl. It was so cute.
Ingredients:
500 grams Greek Yogurt
1 clove Garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup finely chopped Dill
1 long green or red Chili, seeded and shredded
to sprinkle/drizzle as topping:
Sweet Paprika
Olive Oil
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients in a medium-sized bowl together. Adjust the seasoning to your taste if necessary.
Chill, covered until ready to serve. Right before serving garnish by sprinkling paprika and a drizzle of olive oil.
Make about 2 Cups.

I love that you made this – and what good taste your son has! Your photos are terrific. Don’t you just love the way the oil sits on the yoghurt?

This dish is best served with what ever you think goes well with yogurt. When we ate this, I made lamb kebab and we used as a dipping sauce. It also goes great with rice, you could dip fries into it if you wanted to. You can eat this with pita or any other flat bread. Or, if you’re like my son, you can just eat it straight like it is with a spoon
