A Garden Full of Tomatoes

Published by myamii at 6:00 am under Garden

Well, my garden isn’t full of tomatoes anymore, but it still was in September when this shot was taken.

I had such a great selection in my garden this summer. I had sweet early-blooming yellow tomatoes, grainy and pretty looking Reisetomatos, cherry tomatoes, pear tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, yellow currant tomatoes, and my all time favorite: super sweet black zebra tomatoes.

Next year I have plans to make the tomato part of my garden a bit simpler: lots and lots of Roma tomatoes – they are the best for canning and just keep producing and producing tomatoes.

The yellow tomatoes will bloom early and later than all other tomatoes in the garden, so I will have a few of those of “cover” early summer.

Cherry tomatoes will be for salads – a few plants go a long way.

And, a zebra tomatoes, although late blooming and not giving a lot of fruit, are so very sweet and delicious, that it’s worth waiting every extra day for.

Are any of you already planning your garden for next year?  If so, what do you plan on planting in it?
