Maple Walnut Plaits – recipe needed
The other day I went to my local baker and found there Maple Walnut Plaits. I had never seen them before, and once I tasted them I knew why.
They are so good that they sell out by 8am!!
I had to pre-order 4 days in advance to secure 4 of these babies. They are like eating light and flaky pecan pie slices
I want the recipe, but I cannot find one anywhere. I have come up with some conclusions:
-they use puff pastry dough
-they add the walnuts at the end of the baking process
-they brush the tops with apricot jam
But, how do they make the liquidy pie filling that I am so used to making when I make pecan pie. How do they braid it? How long do they bake it??
If anyone out there has a similar recipe, oh, please share!!

What a scrumptious looking plait! yummy!
Cheers,
Rosa
Sort of reminds me of baklava. How about starting with the filling for pecan tarts, and a yeast dough?
Those look and sound amazing. I looked through many of my cookbooks, to no avail. I will keep looking. I hope you find that recipe because now I want some too! =)
